Check out the WCCCSA Scholarship page for more information about this  opportunity. The Vanessa Andrews Memorial Scholarship awards $2,500 to a qualifying candidate. Gilman Scholarship

Elegibility

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program is open to all U.S. citizen undergraduates, in good academic standing, who meet the criteria listed below:

- The applicant must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant or provide proof that he/she will be receiving a Pell Grant at the time of application or during the term of his/her study abroad.

- The applicant is applying to or has been accepted into a study abroad program eligible for credit by the student’s accredited institution of higher education in the U.S.

- The applicant is studying abroad for at least 28 days in one country. Programs going to more than one country are eligible if the student will be studying in one country for at least 28 consecutive days.

- The applicant is studying abroad in any country except Cuba or a country on the U.S. Department of State’s current Travel Warning list.

Deadlines & Timeline

mid-February 2010 Online Application available for Fall 2010 Summer 2010 application cycle.
April 6, 2010 Student Deadline for submission of online application.
April 9, 2010 Postmark Deadline for official, university undergraduate transcript/s. All applicants must submit three copies of their official transcript from the institution where they are currently enrolled and their most recently attended transfer institution, if applicable.
April 13, 2010 Advisor Deadline for submission of online Study Abroad Advisor and Financial Aid Advisor section.
April/May 2010 Complete Applications are processed and distributed to selection panels for review.
Early June 2010 All Applicants are notified of the status of their application via email. Study Abroad and Financial Aid Advisors will be notified of scholarship recipients via email.
June 2010 Award Recipients must accept/decline their award and send in required documentation.
